EXTERNAL POSTING – LAND CODE CO-ORDINATOR

 The Big Grassy First Nation is seeking a qualified individual to fill the Land Code Co-Ordinator at Big Grassy

Key duties and Responsibilities under the direction of the Land Code Committee:

  • Ensures that the Land Code Staff carry out the duties as required by the Land Code Development Committee
  • Ensures that Agenda is prepared and that minutes of meetings are typed and distributed to Council, Committee and pertinent staff
  • Ensures that resource material are made available to the Land Code Development Committee members
  • Ensures that the information on the Land Code reaches the community members by mail outs, community meetings, door to door visits, and by workshops held both on and off reserve in order to prepare the membership vote on the contents of the Land Code
  • Ensures that the revisions made to the Land Code are completed and a copy of the updated version is distributed to the Land Code Development Committee
  • Ensures the draft land documents are reviewed by Committee
  • Ensures that mail outs to locate membership is completed and that the Voter’s list is revised as Land Code Development Committee locates members
  • Ensures that the revision of the Community Ratification process document is updated as directed by the Committee
  • Ensures that the Council approved proposed Land Code, Community Ratification Process and Voter’s List is sent on to the Verifier
  • Works with Verifier to ensure that all documentation requirements are completed
  • Ensures of Land Code Staff attendance at Ratification Process
  • All other duties as required by Big Grassy First Nation throughout the Land Code Development, verification, and ratification processes.

Education and Working Experience

  • Supervisory background
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and workshops
  • Knowledge of computer software applications, such as PowerPoint, MS ACCESS, MS Suite
  • Ability to seek out resource materials for committee
  • Good interpersonal skills who genuinely likes working with public
  • Must be a Big Grassy First Nation Member
