Claim Coordinator
Big Grassy River First Nation is seeking a Claims (Negotiation) Coordinator for the Farming Land Claim that is currently in joint negotiations with Big Grassy First Nation and Ojibwe’s of Onigaming. This Farming Land claim will follow the process as set out in the Specific Claims by the Government of Canada. This position will also include an administrative role in coordinating the funding submission proposals to the existing Trusts that are maintained by Big Grassy First Nation.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain close communication with the Negotiation Team.
- Update the Negotiation Team on an as needed basis.
- Communicate to the Leadership of the Farming Land Claim status periodically.
- Complete and apply for funding submissions annually for the duration of the claim.
- Complete Reporting Requirements as set out in the Specific Claim Negotiation Funding.
- Act as coordinator for all the trust funding applications, ie: Ah Shoo Gun, Kiitakiinaan and newly created Trust.
- Assist as needed administratively to other claims on an as needed basis.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Programs.
- Ability to navigate the Government programs for Specific Claims funding opportunities.
- 35 hour week schedule.
This position is full time with a 6-month probationary period and available for an immediate start date.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
