The National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP) at Musk-kosiminiziibing provides culturally grounded prevention, intervention, and referral services to individuals and families affected by substance use. The program supports holistic wellness by combining professional practices with traditional teachings and community values
What We Do
Counselling & Client Support
- Provide one-on-one and group counselling for individuals affected by substance use
- Support clients in accessing treatment programs, including residential and family-based programs
- Refer individuals to appropriate support groups and culturally relevant services
- Conduct follow-ups and home visits to support recovery journeys
- Maintain confidential and respectful client records
Case Management & Wellness Planning
- Assess client needs and develop individualized wellness and treatment plans
- Provide referrals for addictions, mental health, cultural, and FASD supports
- Work closely with front-line workers and other service providers to ensure coordinated care
Education & Community Engagement
- Develop and distribute culturally relevant educational materials on addiction prevention and harm reduction
- Lead workshops, training sessions, and awareness initiatives for youth, adults, and families
- Promote Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) awareness and prevention
- Organize social, spiritual, and substance-free community activities
Advocacy & Administration
- Maintain accurate program documentation and prepare required reports
- Advocate for healthy, substance-free lifestyles through outreach programs
- Participate in committees and ongoing professional development to ensure best practices in addiction prevention and healing
