Jordan’s Principle is a child-first principle that ensures First Nations children can access the products, services, and supports they need – when they need them. It is named in memory of Jordan River Anderson of Norway House Cree Nation, whose story led to national changes so that no First Nations child experiences delays in care due to jurisdictional disputes.
Jordan’s Principle is implemented by the Indigenous Services Canada and applies to First Nations children living on and off reserve.
