Musk-kosiminiziibing (formerly known as Big Grassy River First Nation) is a proud Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) First Nation located in northwestern Ontario, Canada. We are situated near Morson, Ontario, along the southeast shores of Lake of the Woods, approximately 130 kilometres northwest of Fort Frances, nestled within the rich forests and waters of the Treaty No. 3 territory.
Our Nation and People
Musk-kosiminiziibing – known in the Ojibwe language as Mishkosiminiziibiing Anishinaabeg – is grounded in Anishinaabe ways of life, language, and culture. Our community is part of the Anishinabeg of Kabapikotawangag Resource Council and the broader political and cultural nation of the Grand Council Treaty No. 3. As a sovereign First Nation, we carry forward the traditions, teachings, and responsibilities of our ancestors in all aspects of community life.
Our people are connected to the land, lakes, rivers, and forests, which have sustained families for generations. These lands – rich in resources, history, and spiritual significance – continue to be central to who we are as Anishinaabeg.
