The Ontario Works (OW) Program at Musk-kosiminiziibing operates under the mandate of the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS).
Ontario Works provides temporary financial assistance and employment supports to eligible individuals and families in need, while helping participants move toward financial independence through skills development and community engagement.
Our Mandate
Under provincial legislation and policy direction from MCCSS, Ontario Works is designed to:
- Provide basic financial assistance for essential needs such as food and shelter
- Support individuals in becoming job-ready and employment-focused
- Deliver case management and participation planning
- Connect clients to training, education, and community resources
- Promote personal responsibility and pathways to self-sufficiency
Ontario Works is intended to be a short-term support system that helps individuals stabilize their situation while working toward long-term goals.
Services Offered at Musk-kosiminiziibing
Through our local delivery model, Ontario Works may provide:
- Income assistance for eligible on-reserve members
- Employment participation supports
- Referrals to training, upgrading, or community programs
- Guidance in accessing other services and benefits
- Ongoing case management and goal setting

Eligibility
