Healthy Babies & Healthy Children Program

The Healthy Babies & Healthy Children Program at Musk-kosiminiziibing is designed to support families from pregnancy through early childhood with culturally respectful guidance, resources, and encouragement. Our goal is to help children get a strong and healthy start in life while strengthening the confidence and well-being of parents, caregivers and families.

The program offers supportive check-ins, practical education, and connections to helpful services that promote healthy development before and after birth. Families can receive prenatal guidance, support transitioning home with a new baby, and follow-up visits to track growth, development, and family needs. Caregivers are also invited to participate in activities that build parenting skills, increase understanding of early childhood milestones, and create opportunities for positive bonding with children.

All activities and supports are grounded in community values, respectful of each family’s journey, and guided by Anishinaabe culture and teachings. By nurturing healthy beginnings and creating supportive connections, the Healthy Babies & Healthy Children Program contributes to lifelong wellness for our youngest community members and their families.

Early Childhood Program

The Early Childhood Program at Musk-kosiminiziibing supports young children and their families by nurturing growth, curiosity, and learning in a safe, inclusive, and culturally grounded environment. The program encourages children’s development across all areas, social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and cultural, while strengthening connections to family and community.

Through play-based learning, age-appropriate activities, and intentional support, children are guided to explore, create, and build confidence. The program also offers opportunities for parents and caregivers to engage in their child’s learning, access helpful information about developmental milestones, and connect with other families.

Grounded in Anishinaabe teachings, culture, and traditions, the Early Childhood Program integrates Indigenous languages, stories, and community gatherings into daily experiences. By providing a welcoming space where young children can thrive, the program lays a strong foundation for lifelong learning and holistic well-being.
